In the Kozjansko region, nature is still left quite intact and there are many medicinal plants. We should not damage this situation with excessive exploitation. Medical plants thrive in a domestic garden as well, particularly those endangered in their natural habitat. It is our wish that the visitors in Olimje become aware of their benefit but more important, and see how simple it is to grow them in their home gardens. That is why we have set up a botanical garden with nearly two hundred species of medical herbs. Each exhibited plant has a sign with its Slovenian and Latin names, what parts of the plant areused as a remedy, and which illness it helps to treat.
